There I was, drowned in hopelessness,
Pulled in by negativity, into the ineludible quicksand.
The more I thought about the past,
The quicker, sadness engulfed me.
Sipping coffee, unmoved from my place,
My eyes, fixed on the wall opposite,
My mind traversed the windy seas,
With no destination to conclude with.
Suddenly, my eyes caught up with an ant,
Trying its best for the wall’s summit,
Carrying a burden called a grain,
Which was, all its food.
Many a times, it fell and
Many a times more, it tried.
At the end of the hour, right in front of my eyes,
It reached its home, with the grain and all.
A simple and powerful nudge it was,
From the nature, to my heart.
A lesson, an inspiration, whatever you may call,
Was all I needed for this night.
No use, thinking about the past,
No gain moping around endlessly.
All it did was, push me into the abyss,
Of darkness and pain.
“Arise, Awake and Stop not
Till the goal is reached.”
This famous line illuminated my mind,
Shining upon me, the ray of hope I did need indeed.
