Her Enthusiasm

“Hello…Hi…”, were the words we said to each other at first,

And I thought my chest was about to burst.

That was the girl who initiated the conversation,

And all I was worried about, my first impression.

I think it was a good one ’cause she didn’t hang up the call,

Didn’t say anything weird to bring my downfall.

Seconds to minutes and for hours we spoke on,

Before I realized, it was already dawn.

From that day onward,

Time of our conversation never had me bothered.

Her enthusiasm for entering my world only surprised me,

And in fear, pushing her away I began to flee.

Reserved and shy with mysteries a lot,

Being alone was what I most sought.

She didn’t give up, despite my behavior,

Still kept babbling passionately we were.

Had to bring few walls of mine down,

Her affection made me feel, I wore a crown.

But no king was I, just another normal guy,

Her warmth and excitement I couldn’t deny.

My stubbornness lost to her enthusiasm,

She was the reason for my metamorphism.
