Savior

on

One wall down, another one to go,

Every bit carefully, he had to take it slow.

The number of walls increased with his age,

Behind the last one, he locked himself in a cage.

Unable to trust and refusing to do so,

Years of betrayal left him with no amigo.

Others’ concern for him, out of duty,

Mistook by him always, as just a pity.

Never in his wildest dreams, think he did,

Someone capable of breaking his walls, behind which he hid.

Finally, a girl unexpectedly entered his life,

In no time, she became from a stranger to his wife.

Shattering his cage and all the walls in between,

Declared herself in his heart as his queen.

Trust, courage, self-esteem, love above all,

In his broken soul, she patiently did install.

Within three winters, she changed her man,

Fourth Christmas together, their new journey began.

Thank her, he did, with a big gracious smile,

All the years he waited was totally worthwhile.

Turning him into a diamond from a complete failure,

She was indeed, his long sought savior.

Capable
